Unjudged – A story of resilience from the life of Annmarie Zehntner
“You just need to be more resilient!”
How many times have you been told this in your career, as if it’s something to be earned or dialled up? When have you been judged by bosses and colleagues as not resilient, like it’s a pass or fail thing? Have you been criticised for not being mentally strong, as if resilience was a character trait? But what really is resilience for a woman’s life and experiences, when life throws curve balls at you?
Annmarie Zehntner is an experienced coach and leadership development expert. Her career spans senior roles in HR, Talent Management and Learning & Development, most recently in EY Lane4. She has combined a career working in organisations with successfully raising a family.
Annmarie has agreed to share her story of resilience through the experiences of post-natal depression, losing her sense of self through the menopause, and helping her son as he struggles with self-harm. By doing so, she wants to challenge our thinking on what it means to be resilient.
Unjudged
Our Unjudged series creates opportunities to hear stories from the lives of other women. By having the courage to step into these stories we broaden our understanding of the breadth of human experience.
You, the listener, will be invited to listen deeply and question respectfully. And when you do, you gift the storyteller the opportunity to have their story truly heard. Together, we will build our awareness, challenge our stereotypes and prejudices, and learn to step into the shoes of others.
Each event will last 30-45 minutes, depending on the questions from the audience. Unjudged events will take place regularly, and will focus on the many and varied experiences of women. If you have a story that you wish to tell, please do get in touch with us: becoming@becoming.training.
