Becoming Community Event – Unjudged Session on Living with Bipolar
Our favourite and most impactful sessions are our Unjudged sessions. They are an opportunity to step into the shoes of another person and see the world from their perspective for a short while. Sarah completed the Becoming Journey in 2022, and has kindly agreed to share her story of living with bipolar disorder. Here’s a taster:
Did you know that more than a million people live with bipolar in the UK? And more than five million friends and family are significantly affected by their loved one’s illness.
Sarah received her diagnosis of bipolar disorder 6 years ago, following a crisis event that resulted in her being hospitalised. Join our Unjudged event to listen to Sarah’s story: the context of her childhood and early adult years, the triggering work events that lead to crisis and diagnosis, and the work that she has done to learn to live with her mental illness and regain her sense of self.
Sarah is passionate about destigmatising mental health and hopes that her story of living with bipolar disorder will provoke thought and discussion about how mental health disorders are talked about and handled in the workplace and in society more broadly.
This event is by invitation only and is open to women in the Becoming Community who have completed the Becoming Journey.
