Our Unjudged® events create opportunities to hear stories from the lives of women. You, the listener, will be invited to listen deeply and question respectfully. And when you do, you gift the storyteller the opportunity to have their story truly heard.
By having the courage to step into these stories, truly listen and appreciate, we seek to broaden our understanding of the human experience. Together, we will build our awareness, challenge our stereotypes and prejudices, and learn to step into the shoes of others.
Unjudged®: “Rowing the Atlantic was the easy part”
In 2020, a friend told Nicki that she was the one person she knew that might be crazy enough to row the Atlantic. 5 years later, it turns out she was right.
Nicki is an alumni of the Becoming Journey and, like many women that we meet, she came to us because she felt stuck professionally and personally. Little did we know that a couple of years later, we’d be sponsoring her as she took on a mammoth challenge – rowing 3000 miles from La Gomera to Antigua.
Nicki is no heroine, she’s a woman just like you or I, just like your sister, wife, friend or colleague. And she is also a woman who chose to take on an extraordinary challenge Join our Unjudged event to hear Nicki share her story: preparation, fundraising, rowing, food, safety, toilets, weather, celebrations, aftermath – Nicki will answer any questions that you have.
Nicki knows that not everyone will row the Atlantic, but she firmly believes that everyone faces challenges. Perhaps this Unjudged story will make you reflect on the challenges you face, and what you have taken from them.
